On October 30 & 31, 1991, the weather wreaked havoc on the east coast. The wind gusts were of hurricane force, and tremendous seas and high tides caused heavy surf and coastal flooding. This perfect storm—created by a collision between an intense low-pressure system and the remnants of a hurricane—affected an area from New England to North Carolina.
