The Pearl Restaurant - Wellfleet MA - Courtesy Photo (1)At the outer tip of Cape Cod, Pearl restaurant is nestled beside Wellfleet Harbor. Pearl combines beach-side dining with some of the Cape’s freshest and most creative seafood. It features indoor-outdoor dining on multi-level decks with panoramic views of the entire harbor including the main boat dock, the town pier, Mayo Beach, and Great Island.

Boaters can easily access Pearl by walking across the street from the town’s main boat dock. The Town of Wellfleet Marina offers both transient moorings and slips, and fuel services. It can be in high demand during the spring, summer and fall, so boaters are advised to contact the harbormaster in advance to make arrangements. While the area is well marked, it’s known for a narrow approach and boaters are advised to use GPS when possible. The marina is located at 300 Main Street in Wellfleet, and the harbormaster can be contacted by phone at 508-349-0320 or email michael.flanagan@wellfleet-ma.gov.

Pearl’s well-stocked raw bar features locally harvested Wellfleet oysters, littlenecks and jumbo shrimp served with cocktail sauce and lemon. An array of appetizers are available. The lobster, spinach and brie quesadilla is rich and creamy, with all the fixings including avocado cream, salsa fresca, and sour cream. Crispy and spicy buffalo chicken tenders with blue cheese and the ultra-fresh Pearl super salad with kale, roasted red peppers, sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries offer enticing non-seafood starters.

Seafood lovers shouldn’t pass up the expertly prepared simple grilled fish, especially the swordfish, topped with zesty mango salsa or a rich lemon butter beurre. The fish tacos provide a lighter option that explodes with flavor, pairing fried cod with cucumber salsa, jalapeno aioli and avocado cream. The barbecued ribs are a delicious non-seafood selection, slow cooked with a dry rub and then finished with a zesty barbecue sauce. The blue cheese and caramelized onion burger is a summer favorite.

End your meal with the dessert of the day. The chocolate peanut butter pie was rich and sweet, but not cloying. Diners with dietary restrictions will find plenty of options; vegetarians and vegans enjoy veggie burgers, pasta, and a range of fresh salads. Gluten-free options are available upon request.
