Pace’s Dockside

Pace's DocksideFor many boaters, a nice day includes clear skies, calm waters, and a delicious meal. One North Fork restaurant that fits boaters’ criteria is Pace’s Dockside at Strong’s Waterclub & Marina in Mattituck. This establishment offers boaters the opportunity to enjoy the scenic East End as well as a mouthwatering menu.

While Pace’s Dockside is upscale, it is a restaurant that appeals to both adults and children. It offers seating inside or outside. If you choose to dress up and sit inside, you’ll relish a delicious dinner in comfort. If you prefer a laid back atmosphere while hanging out with the family and kids, the outside dining area is ideal. It’s a fun place to relax — there’s a tiki bar outside serving cocktails and other alcoholic drinks. There’s also live music on occasion and a great view of the pool and marina.

Lobster Mac and Cheese at pace's by Melissa McMahonMy family and I spent a weekend at the marina and we looked forward to trying the steaks and seafood choices at Pace’s. We liked the food, the friendly staff, and the welcoming dining areas so much that we ate there three times! The first day, I started with a Caesar salad. It was fresh and a great way to begin. My family all ordered the same entrée — Freddy’s Fried Chicken. It was cooked to perfection and accompanied by delicious sweet potatoes. I highly recommend it.

The next day my mom and I ordered the lobster mac and cheese. It was out of this world tasty, containing many small pieces of lobster in a flavorful creamy cheese sauce. It was a big serving and quite filling. On our last visit, my brother ordered the Pace’s burger topped with cheddar cheese, onions, and tomato jam. He sure was satisfied! If you like plain and simple, their chicken fingers are probably the best I ever had (kids will love them). Gluten-free eaters may enjoy the mahi mahi tacos or the roast duckling. There aren’t many choices for vegans or vegetarians — this is a place for lovers of surf and turf.

Try to leave room for desserts — the cheese and carrot cakes and beignets are mighty tempting.

Pace’s serves dinner Tuesdays through Sundays. In addition, lunch is served on the weekends and brunch is offered on Sundays.
