North Beach, Maryland

north beach 4North Beach, Maryland has been called “The Jewel of the Chesapeake Bay” so you know it must be a gem of a place to visit!
This town is located on the western shore at the northern tip of Calvert County. Bring your boat to Herrington Harbour South for transient dockage; call or email the gift shop to make a reservation.

Once docked, take a short cab ride to the beach off of Bay Avenue and enjoy a nice stroll along the boardwalk, taking in the beauty of North Beach.  Stop by the Sunrise Garden and enjoy the adorable gazebo.

north beach 2The Bayside History Museum is two avenues away from the boardwalk. It’s a great place to get a sense of the rich history of North Beach. Some of their fascinating exhibitions include Amusement Park at Chesapeake Beach, North Beach Fire Department, and Camp Roosevelt.  The exhibitions are rich with cool artifacts, photography, and tell a great story of this town.

After learning about North Beach, saunter into one or many of the shops along Chesapeake Avenue. Grab a bite to eat at local establishments such as Neptune’s Seafood Pub and Cold Penguin Ice Cream.

A day spent at North Beach is one sparkling with rich history, a beautiful beach, scenic boardwalk, beckoning establishments, and a bustling community. It definitely earns its sparkling reputation.
