Mail Attachment 4Located in Oceanside Harbor, Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill is easy to spot among all the waterfront restaurants and shops — just look for the multi-story lighthouse at the end of the pier.

The restaurant’s second floor location offers stunning views of the harbor from the roomy patio. If there is a wait for the patio, you can still have a great time if you eat inside in the dining room, which features large windows, vaulted ceilings, exposed wood beams, and open doors on both ends. The room allow for lots of light and a refreshing sea breeze throughout and it also offers a great view of the open kitchen.

The menu offers a wide variety of options, with a focus on seafood. You can start with either the clam chowder or lobster bisque served in a cup, bowl, or a bread bowl. If you want a more substantial starter, the crab cakes, which are served with a hollandaise sauce and come two to an order, are an excellent choice.Mail Attachment

The Caesar salad is a light and refreshing option to begin the meal and the steamed artichokes are a great choice of starter as well.

I ordered the club sandwich; it’s a simple but tasty stack of turkey, bacon, tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise on toasted white bread. I recommend trying the thick-cut seasoned potato wedges for a side. The crispy outside pairs perfectly with the soft inside.

Other entrées include a variety of fish, including salmon, mahi mahi, sea bass and swordfish, which can be prepared grilled, blackened and several other ways. There is also a fantastic coconut shrimp, soft-shelled tacos with carne asada, calamari, fish and shrimp, quesadillas with chicken or lobster and shrimp and entrée salads, such as baby mixed greens or caprese. Which work for vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant is also able to accommodate gluten-free requests.Mail Attachment 5

Choose from delectable desserts, such as mud pie or crème brulee for an after-dinner treat.

There are transient slips in Marina del Mar; it’s a very quick walk once docked. Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and breakfast is served on Saturdays and Sundays; reservations are accepted. The restaurant also offers a happy hour every day with a smaller, discounted menu.
