Letter from the Editor

April 1, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

There’s absolutely no way that I can greet April with any more eloquence or eagerness than George Harrison did when he sang:

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it’s been clear.*

Though the winter may be behind us calendar-wise, Mother Nature seems reluctant to send Frosty the Snowman on his merry way. Try as she might, however, she can’t fight the harbingers of spring such as crocuses, baseball, and celebrations for Easter and Passover. In fact, let’s remind Mother Nature that Earth Day is her day — a day to crank up the sunshine and break out the green!

Whatever it looks like and feels like outside as you read this, know that within our pages spring is positively underway, and summer’s not too distant, either. We can’t control the temperature, the precipitation, or the winds, but we’re sharing stories and tips that will soon get you out on the water quickly, safely, and energetically. How soon will that be? Well, as soon as you can shout, Sun, sun, sun, here it comes!*

Lita
