btli_oct14_cover_highres (1)You’re reading our seventh anniversary issue; I hope that you’re enjoying it as much as we love bringing it to you.

Since we started this magazine in 2007, we’ve had fantastic support from readers and the advertisers who support us. Yet there have been a few know-it-alls eager to tell us that our business is out of step. We’ve heard, “No one reads magazines anymore,” and “Boating? That’s just for an elite few.” Really? When we interact at boat shows and on social

media, you’re always telling us how much you enjoy reading our publication. On top of that, I receive scads of photos featuring boaters of all ages having fun on kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, runabouts, sailboats, tubes, catamarans, and cabin cruisers. It seems that good stories are always welcome, and water-filled fun is always in style!

We’ll carry on, covering the boating lifestyle as long as you keep living it. We’ll wave to you on the water, and you’ll wave back. We’ll talk at boat shows, and chat on Facebook and Twitter. We’ll keep sharing fun ideas, interesting people, useful information, health and wellness advice, and lots of safety tips, and you’ll keep showing our advertisers you appreciate them keeping our publication afloat.

We appreciate your confidence these past seven years, and look forward to plenty more adventures with the best readers on land and sea.
