delfriscos4For a top-notch dining experience on Boston Harbor, cruise to Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House in the Seaport District.

Del Frisco’s diners can sit in the restaurant proper, lounge, or outside in good weather. The water is in full view from just about everywhere at the steak house, which features terraced seating in its second-floor setting above the marina.

The restaurant is known for its steaks and chops, so the menu is punctuated with dinner entrées that include two sizes of filet mignon, prime strip, and veal tomahawk chop. Salmon, scallops, and tuna, with sides such as mushrooms, onion rings, baked potatoes, and asparagus, are also on the menu. Appetizers are mostly seafood-themed, and they include shrimp cocktail, crab cake, oysters, and fried calamari.

I went for lunch, where the selections including salads, sandwiches, and entrées such as prime rib Milanese and lamb chops. I ordered the prime shaved steak sandwich, which came au jus with horseradish sauce on the side. The steak was tasty, the roll was toasted perfectly, and the French fries were delicious. From the extensive drink menu that offers choices ranging from fine wine and mixed drinks to craft beers, I selected the Massachusetts-brewed Whale’s Tale Pale Ale to go with my meal.

Lunch entrées range from $15.00 to $28.00, and dinner is $21.00 to $69.00, plus side dishes at $11.00 to $18.00. There’s also a business lunch special for $25.00 that includes a choice of a starter and one of three entrées: filet mignon, salmon fillet, or chicken breast.

Service on my visit was friendly and attentive by servers dressed to the nines. Del Frisco’s suggested attire is business casual and reservations are suggested. Lunch and dinner are served Monday through Friday; the restaurant only opens for dinner service on weekends starting at 4:00 pm from September to May and at 3:30 pm June through August.

A total of 12 slips maintained by Liberty Wharf Marina are offered for boats up to 40 feet at $20.00 per hour for up to five hours, from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm. It’s $180.00 for a six- to 12-hour stay, with special rates for harbor events. Call 617-999-5996 for reservations and availability.
