Conchy Joe's Inside the Chickee HutConchy Joe’s Seafood has graced the banks of the Indian River in Jensen Beach since 1983, becoming a veritable institution for docking and dining. This restaurant is a favorite watering hole for locals and popular amongst the boating crowd for its waterfront location. The atmosphere at Conchy Joe’s is tropical with coconut palms dancing in the breeze and a chickee (different than a tiki) hut on the premises where boating music is played Thursday through Monday nights.

The dinner menu is filled with fresh seafood that is featured with a Bahamian twist. A house specialty is Bimini mahi, broiled mahi with roasted mixed peppers and veggies served with black beans and rice. We like the fresh catch fish for dinner, which can be prepared grilled, jerked, broiled, fried or sautéed with a special crust of horseradish or sweet potato. The fresh catch is served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and sautéed leeks. Other dinner entrees include salads and items from the raw bar, Alaskan king and snow crab legs and Caribbean lobster tails. Steaks grilled over oak are another menu staple with sides ranging from Caesar salad and baked potatoes to black beans and rice or mango glazed plantains.

Conchy Joe's DockIf your boating day has left you in the mood for more casual dining the bar menu includes sandwiches and burgers (conch and beef) and a great fish taco plate. The selection of appetizers is nice as well from raw bar goods to calamari or u-peel-um shrimp. In keeping with the Bahamian theme, a plethora of tropical rum drinks are on tap as well as a good wine list and many choices of beer.

Service is friendly and adept at dealing with crowds and diners of all ages. We found our server to be quite knowledgeable about the menu and not shy about making recommendations we enjoyed.
