Boston Wine Festival

boston-wine-tastingWine and food lovers should plan to set sail for Boston for the world renowned Boston Wine Festival at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

The festival, which was launched in 1989 by Chef Daniel Bruce, is a three-month-long affair that would please even Dionysus — the Greek god of fertility and wine.

Bruce, the chef at Boston Harbor Hotel’s Meritage Restaurant, says that he “maintains a unique philosophy of matching dishes to wines by tasting the wine first and creating flavor profiles that enhance both the wine and food experience.”

Each year, the festival features new menus and dishes. Since its inception, Bruce has created more than 4,000 unique dishes, each designed to complement a featured wine with which it was served.

The 27th Annual Boston Wine Festival will include a series of intimate winemaker-hosted dinners, seminars and receptions featuring vintners and top personalities from the world of wine.

Among the highlights of the 2016 festival is a Grand Opening Reception.

The opening reception features 50 wines from the many wineries featured in the 2016 festival, along with tasty culinary pairings.

In addition to sit-down dinners, the festival’s “walk-around” style events include more than 40 “themed” wines that are paired with food buffets featuring dishes created by Chef Bruce.

If you’re planning to indulge, you may not want to drink and drive. Not surprisingly, the Boston Harbor Hotel, now part of the Hilton family, offers special promotional rates for Wine Festival guests who want to spend the night.

Docking privileges also are available to sailing guests through the marina at Rowes Wharf, located behind the Boston Harbor Hotel. The marina provides access to all of the amenities associated with Rowes Wharf.

The Boston Harbor Hotel is a luxury waterfront hotel that is accessible by land and sea. Rooms include great views of Boston harbor and the Boston skyline.
