atlanticaOffering sweeping ocean views from its indoor dining room, Atlantica on Cohasset Harbor provides a thoughtful menu where fresh seafood and lobster take center stage. The restaurant serves dinner year round and is open for Sunday brunch from mid-September through the end of June.

Diners who prefer to eat alfresco in warm weather can nosh on more casual fare at Atlantica’s Olde Salt House, a seasonal restaurant located at the same address. It is open for lunch and dinner from Memorial Day to Columbus Day.

Slips are offered for boats at no charge but be sure to call ahead.

On a recent visit, my husband and I enjoyed the Sunday brunch buffet. After our waitress poured us coffee, we began our multi-course meal at the self-serve buffet. I loaded my plate with two salads – one composed of roasted beets, goat cheese and walnuts and the other of lentils, artichokes and peppers; and one with grilled squash.  I also helped myself to some roasted potatoes; carrots with peas and mint; and artisan bread. My husband selected scrambled eggs, sausage and a pizza with wild mushrooms, herbed ricotta and garlic. Next we hit the carving station for roast beef and herb roasted turkey.

Our second trip to the buffet found us at the waffle and omelet station. We ordered a waffle with juicy strawberries and delightful house-made whipped cream and a spinach, ham and cheddar omelet. We then took our seats; our food came out moments later. Everything was spectacular.

Though we had saved little room for dessert, we had to sample some anyway. The dessert table was set up in the center room, complete with an ice cream sundae bar and a cascading chocolate fountain… pure decadence.

At the time of publishing, the Sunday brunch buffet cost $27.95 for adults and $13.95 for children ages 4-11.
