Aquarium of the Pacific

aqaurium of the pacific SoCalIs there a more perfect way to spend a day than by taking your boat to the aquarium and then taking your boat home? In my opinion, that might just be a perfect day trip.  If you haven’t been to the Aquarium of the Pacific yet, then you are in luck.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is located in Rainbow Harbor and right next door to Rainbow Harbor/Rainbow Marina.  They have 250 feet of day-guest mooring, making it perfect for your day trip plans. You can call (562) 570-8636 to confirm day and costs.

The aquarium is home to more than 11,000 ocean animals! They focus on the waters of Southern California and Baja.  The three main galleries highlight the major regions of the Pacific Ocean.

The aquarium has outdoor exhibits that house the Shark Lagoon. Another amazing exhibit is the Symphony of the Jellies, which combines art and science to make music inspired by Sea Jellies!  If that’s not enough, you can explore the Tropical Pacific Gallery or the Northern Pacific Gallery, both of which have animals that represent those regions. There is just so much to see.

At the time of publishing, the aquarium is open every day except April 15 to 17 (for the Grand Prix of Long Beach). You can purchase tickets online at their website: https://tickets.aquariumofpacific.org/WebStore/shop/ViewItems.aspx?Merchant=AOP&CategoryGroupExternalID=AOPWEB&CategoryExternalID=WEB

Enjoy a perfect day on the boat and see the animals of the ocean, as well!
