A QUIET HARBOR

April 1, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

MY FAMILY CAME TO CHECK ON ME

WITH THE PROMISE OF SPRING SONGS

YET SNOW FALLS ACROSS MY BOW

AS WINTER HUMS ALONG

MEASURING FOR NEW CANVAS

AND CHECKING THE GALLEY (BARE)

THEY SPEAK OF SUN AND WARMER DAYS

NEW TRIPS SOON IN THE AIR

SNOW FALL IS A FADING MEMORY

DAYS ARE GROWING LONG

MY FAMILY BRINGS THEIR CHECK- LIST

OF WAYS TO MAKE ME STRONG

GATHERING ON MY DECKS

TAKING ROPING FROM MY FORM

BUZZING CHEERFUL VOICES

CHARTING THE SEA WHERE I BELONG

WATER NOW EMBRACES MY BOW

ECHOING THE STILLNESS BEFORE DAWN

WINDS WHISPER SOFTLY

CROONING PROMISES OF DAYS LONG

WE’LL HEAD OUT OF THE HARBOR

SO QUIET ON THE MORN

MOVING THROUGH SEA WATERS

OUR HEARTS ALL BEATING STRONG

INTO THIS WORLD OF WONDER

WITH BEAUTY AND WITH FORM

GENEROUS PROMISES EVERYWHERE

THE CHORUS OF NATURE’S SONG.
